Unsere „Second“ Studio Print Frogs sind eine preisgünstige Alternative. Hierbei handelt es sich um Print Frog ® Glass Barens ™ , die Matts strenge Tests bestanden haben, aber einen kleinen kosmetischen Fehler aufweisen (z. B. einen leicht abgewinkelten Griff, Flecken auf dem Glas oder möglicherweise nicht so schwer oder insgesamt nicht so groß wie unsere regulären Print Frogs). Trotzdem funktioniert es außergewöhnlich gut und wir können es zu einem reduzierten Preis anbieten, um Bedürftigen zu helfen.

2012 — The Idea Takes Shape
Matt Bagley later recalled that development of the Print Frog began in 2012.
April 25, 2013 — The Print Frog Goes on Sale
Iron Frog Press announced that the Print Frog was now available for sale. The original post included a photo of the glass baren.
2013 — Out in the Printmaking Community
Iron Frog Press participated in PrintHouston's It Came From the Bayou II in Houston.
2014 — Printmakers Take Notice
The Print Frog was being used and written about by other printmakers, including R&D Editions.
2015 — Shared with the SGCI Community
The Print Frog was shared with the Southern Graphics Council International community through Graphic Impressions, where Iron Frog Press described it as a high-performance glass baren. That same year, the Print Frog became available through The Printing Museum in Houston.

Matt Bagley developed the Print Frog® Glass Baren out of his own relief-printing practice. He wanted a dedicated hand-printing tool that could provide the weight, control, and working surface he needed when printing difficult and large blocks.
By April 25, 2013, Iron Frog Press was publicly selling the Print Frog. In a contemporaneous Facebook post, Matt announced, “I’m now selling these Print Frogs,” accompanied by a photograph of the glass baren and a description of its use for burnishing woodblocks.
The design continued to develop through studio use, testing, and feedback from other printmakers. Today, every Print Frog® Glass Baren begins with Matt Bagley's design and is handcrafted by professional glass artisans working to his specifications exclusively for Iron Frog Press.

"I picked up a Print Frog not long after taking up printmaking. I had a small book press but wanted to make larger work; but at that stage, as a home printmaker, I couldn’t justify buying a more chunky press due to financial and space constraints. I quickly became a convert and, some years later, it’s my favourite way of making prints. My print in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition this year was made using the Frog. It obviously requires a touch more effort than a fancy etching press, but I enjoy the physical nature of hand burnishing and it’s a thing of beauty in its own right. The portability makes it a great tool for teaching and demonstrating that kitchen table printmaking doesn’t have to mean struggling with a wooden spoon!”
